Subject (of a DP)

This page is under construction

The **Subject (of a DP) is the (single) entity about which the DP holds data (in its bound state).

While many people think of products as the entity to which a DP is typically bound (which is the case when the DP is a digital product passport), it is conceivable that also non-products, such as geographic objects (rivers), people or other animals could be the subject of a DP.

Being the subject of a DP and performing roles such as that of owner, are in principle disjunct. For particular kinds of DPs, e.g., for people, the policies that govern such of DPs may require that being the subject of a DP implies certain roles, such as a holder role.
